Today 27th August 2011, has been a shocking and sad day as Chelsea was playing against Norwich. At the 64th minute’s of play, Didier Drogba, Chelsea’s star striker, jumped high in the air to head the ball, but unfortunately, Norwich’s goal keeper, John Ruddy, went in the air to challenge Drogba. While punching or fisting the ball away, the shot got Drogba’s head. Didier went instantly into K.O and fell very very harshly on the ground. For those who watched the match, it was a very shocking scene.
Didier Drogba fell into unconsciousness for a full 30minutes and was taken off the pitch off stretcher for instant urgent medical attention.
Here’s some news from Chelsea’s website:
“He [Drogba] is showing progressive signs of recovery but we need a full exam, which is being done” – Andre Villas-Boas
“the challenge looked pretty nasty.” – he added
Andre Villas stressed that a full medical exam is being done on Didier.
“Drogba will be released from hospital tonight following medical tests.”
“We are just waiting for the full exams on his concussion and hopefully nothing is wrong,” Villas-Boas said. “He is showing some good signs of recovery for us to be a little bit more tranquil.”
Here’s some Youtube video that I gathered:
